Goal Statement

The mentorship meeting series will focus on advancing NASH/NAFLD and therapeutics knowledge by establishing a platform and forum for health care professionals to experience high-quality education delivered by leading experts in the field.

Target Audience

The target audience for this series will include gastroenterologists, hepatologists, endocrinologists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants treating CLD and cirrhosis patients.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the scope and natural history of NAFLD/NASH
  • Proactively identify patients at increased risk for NASH
  • Incorporate current standard of care for diagnosis and management of NAFLD/NASH effectively into clinical practice
  • Discuss the benefits and limitations of current diagnostic modalities and treatment options for NAFLD/NASH
  • Describe recent evidence regarding new and emerging diagnostic modalities for NASH
  • Describe the mechanisms of action of novel agents for the treatment of NASH
  • Discuss recent evidence regarding the safety and efficacy of emerging agents for the treatment of NASH

    This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower and the Chronic Liver Disease Foundation.     The NASH/NAFLD Disease State and Trial Awareness meeting series will focus on advancing NASH/NAFLD and therapeutics knowledge by establishing a platform and forum for health care professionals to experience high-quality education delivered by leading experts in the field.

    This initiative will target health care professionals involved in the screening, diagnosis and management of NASH/NAFLD. These meetings will be led by prominent HCEE faculty who are recognized leaders in NASH/NAFLD health, drug development and medical education. HCEE faculty will present key cases for debate and encourage open discussion of clinical decision points.
