Target Audience

This educational program is targeted at physicians and other healthcare providers who specialize in the management of patients with substance use disorders.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:

  • Examine data on the prevalence and transmission of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) in the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) population.
  • Describe the damaging effects of chronic HCV. Emphasize the need for screening, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Discuss updates in the treatment guidelines for HCV.

    This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower and the Chronic Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF).     Credit Designation

    The Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

    The Annenberg Center for Health Sciences is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
